It was a cold wind morning but the kids were ready to live and learn about some science experiments. We went to Science City in downtown – this park is like Parque Explora in Medellin but not as astounding and beautiful as ours (one point for us) where there was an explanation of the things they would find and do there such as learning about some animals: fish, insects, reptiles and birds…. Some of the animals were real and alive, of course, but some others were dissected in order to be studied and preserve their species. Then, the kids went to a sand pit to play the role of archeologists and find some fossils. As you can picture….they all ended up dusty, but they had fun. After that, they headed for the experiment room.here, they had some “scientific games” whose porpose is to let visitors learn in a funny way the “mysteries” of science. Later on, we went to the AGW - Art Gallery Windsor-, near Detroit River. There, Mary, the curator gave a whole explanation of the paintings related to life in Canada when there were no big cities and no high technology, but a quiet life. These paintings tell the story of the old traditions and life-style: how they used to hunt, to dress….and to live.
This tour, made some of the kids bored, but as soon as they were told they would be graded based on this field trip, they seemed to changed their attitude and started showing a little more interest in culture and knowledge. The tour ended with a handcraft activity, which purpose was to create a masterpiece on their own, and they really did a great job. They could show their skills on arts. This was the funny part for them. They also took some pictures modeling for the famous paintings “The Scream” (by Van Gogh) and “La Monalisa” (by Da Vincci). Finally, they did what they like the most: internet and video games.

OHHHH! IT SOUNDS QUIT INTERESTING!
We should learn that knowledge give us an important weapon to develop our brain, and to open several doors, not only the prices doors, but the world doors!
So the clock is ticking! And the time is shrinking there, so enjoy it as much as you can!!!
